James Betelle was a noted architect of many schools in New Jersey. His firm Guilbert & Betelle was responsible Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey among others. In the 1940’s he suddenly disappeared. Like Lazlo, Hunter S. Thompson’s fictional attorney (Where the Buffalo Roam) — very little is known about what happened to him. Just rumors.
