Well, Fred Mascherino the lead singer and guitarist for The Color Fred will only be a Union, New Jersey resident for a few more days. I wish I could say it wasn’t true — but it is — and I felt it was important to get this post up while he was still technically resident.

Formerly the lead guitarist of Taking Back Sunday — Fred’s new band The Color Fred have produced and awesome debut album Bend To Break. I just picked it up on Itunes and totally loved it.

One might think I’m saying this because because he is a client of mine– he is — but Bend to Break is one of the best things I’ve heard this year. Go download it from Itunes and make sure to check out the band at Warped Tour. They’re awesome.

In 2008, there were 10 New Jersey towns in the top 100. This year — Union ranked number 75.

This is no surprise to me. I have been a huge advocate of Union for years. Not only is it one of the few places in New Jersey with reasonable housing prices, but it’s one of the friendliest. An anomaly of sorts, Union, New Jersey is a place where neighbors actually speak to one another — a rarity in this ultra high tech era.

Here’s a list of the town in New Jersey that made the top 100.

Howell — 77
Middletown — 86
Parsippany/Troy Hills — 13

Union — 75
Washington — 58
